A travel blog. A logbook. The sailing boat Koraki, out with me and friends in the summer of 2026.
About me
I’m Christian, and I came to sailing late. In 2016 on Lake Garda, in a dinghy and a beach cat. In 2018 I went to England for the best part of five months and learned to sail at the Hamble School of Yachting, on the Solent and the English Channel. Then in 2020 Koraki came to me, and I spent the summers of 2020, 2021 and 2024 on the Baltic. In 2021 to Stockholm; in 2024 to Anholt and Bornholm.
The Boat
Koraki is a Wauquiez Gladiateur 33, built in 1980. Ten metres long, with fairly classic lines. A boat that handles well single-handed, too. The name carries several meanings for me. The simplest: Koraki is Greek for “raven” – a name that rather suits a Gladiateur. Her home port is Brodersby, on the Schlei.
The Voyage
The dream is to sail from the Schlei once around England. But that’s the dream. I’ll see how far I can make it come true. The route so far in the summer of 2026. You can also follow it on route.camp.
Get in touch
The best way to reach me is by email: mail@sailing-koraki.com. I read it whenever I’m online. I reply to everything, sometimes just a little later.
A Note on the Translations
The English translations were made with the help of Claude Opus. The manual editing took quite some effort, and yet translating this way was still a good deal quicker.
